The Omnilux LED Light Therapy Color Chart

LED at a glance

If you haven’t heard, the Omnilux line of devices offer the gold-standard in medical-grade LED light technology, and all from the convenience of home - no appointments necessary. Our devices use a series of light wavelengths with optimized energy levels that naturally work to stimulate and heal the skin. The process of delivering these clinically effective wavelengths of light is called “LED phototherapy,” whereby elevated doses of red, near–infrared and blue light are used to supercharge the body’s own natural cellular healing response and produce the visible anti-aging and acne-clearing results we’re all looking for. Science, we thank you.

Let’s get on the same wavelength. Below we will explore the different colors of LED light and what they can do for your skin.

First, why should I use Omnilux LED light therapy?

Starting as early as our 20’s, collagen and elastin break down and cause a loss of volume in our skin. What results is skin that appears wrinkled, loose, thin and uneven. Overexposure to UV rays (you know, those long summer days in the sun) exacerbates the aging process on our faces, necks, chests and hands, leading further to unwanted pigmentation and sunspots.

Which brings us to Omnilux LED devices. Our Contour line of products (FACE, NECK & DÉCOLLETÉ, and GLOVE) is highly effective in reversing the effects of sun-damaged skin due to the type of LEDs used in each device (ie the quality, strength/concentration, output energy, and wavelength consistency).

Now, it’s crucial to note that not all LED phototherapy devices are created equal. Omnilux uses only medical-grade LEDs that have been studied extensively for efficacy and safety, and their performance far exceeds other brands. Our LEDs also provide the highest energy output among home–use LED devices, which is critical in achieving a superior result.

Red and Near-infrared light: The Contour Range

Embedded within our Contour line of products are two clinically proven wavelengths of light; red and near-infrared:

RED LIGHT: The red wavelength (633nm) is responsible for reducing inflammation, pigmentation and redness and helps prompt cellular repair and circulation for a more vibrant complexion.

NEAR-INFRARED LIGHT: The near–infrared wavelength (830nm) targets deeper fibroblast cells, stimulating new collagen and elastin production and results in plumper, firmer and more youthful-looking skin.

These two wavelengths work together to reduce fine lines, wrinkles, and pigmentation due to sun damage and other aging skin woes. Talk about a match made in heaven!

Blue light: Omnilux CLEAR

Here’s the tea on acne: It develops when the sebaceous glands in the skin produce excess oil. The oil combines with cells that line the gland walls, which in turn clogs the pores of the skin. Natural bacteria colonize these pores, causing the inflammation and redness that we see associated with acne. In short, your face falls victim when oil meets bacteria – not exactly the love story we want for our skin.

So what’s the deal with the blue light you ask?

Well, the bacteria responsible for the above-mentioned reaction produce natural chemicals called “porphyrins” which are sensitive to blue light. Enter: Omnilux CLEAR. CLEAR uses red light (mentioned above) to calm the inflammation, and the blue light (415nm) to neutralize the bacteria in the sebaceous glands. The combination of the neutralizing blue light and the anti-inflammatory red light helps to significantly reduce, and even eliminate active acne breakouts, resulting in a visibly smoother, clearer complexion. May you never have another bad picture day again!
